    The Sales Account Manager is a key member of the Waterways Cruises Sales and Marketing Team, working closely with all departments and employees to maximize private event and group sales and deliver Unforgettable Events to Waterways Cruises’ customers. This individual plays a key role in the development and management of accounts and is a valuable member of Waterways’ team of professionals. .

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

    • Responsible for increasing revenue through inside and outside sales efforts.
    • Maintains business relationships with current and potential sales clients through regular contact via personal visits, phone calls, emails, and written correspondence.
    • Responsible for proposal generation, contract negotiation, event logistics and planning, invoicing and collection.
    • Conduct tours, site visits and sales presentations at the company’s primary event facility for prospective clients.
    • Maintains a positive and professional image and builds an effective rapport with clients, prospective clients and staff members.
    • Develop, maintain and update a client database.
    • Develop materials with the marketing department.
    • Follow through on charters/events from start to finish; attend/supervise events.
    • Create annual sales budgets and goals in collaboration with CFO.
    • Promptly follows up sales contacts and leads.
    • May be required to work some weekends, evenings and holidays.
    • Use of personal vehicle may be required during regular business hours on occasion.
    • Attend tradeshows and networking functions.
    • Generate sales of Waterways’ private yacht charters in the Corporate and Travel & Tourism Markets.
    • Manage all aspects of private events including proposals, boat layout, special orders, menu, bar, BEO, etc.
    • Be responsible for all payment management for booked groups and events.
    • Coordinate and collaborate with other Sales Team members to meet the Company’s needs.
    • Lead special projects and new business initiatives.
    • Initiate and manage outbound phone activities including follow-up calls from inbound requests and cold calls to generate new business.
    • Attend the weekly Sales &Marketing Meeting and BEO Meeting.
    • Be an active participant in MPI, Chamber and other industry networking.
    • As directed, assist in the management of sales department vendor accounting processes and payment matters.
    • Participate with all other Sales Team members to assist the Sales Team in answering all incoming phone calls in a timely manner.
    • Promote the highest standard of professionalism and communication to develop solid account relationships.

    The Ideal Candidate: 

    • Has a solid background of sales and account management experience in the Seattle Corporate market.
    • Understands the importance of rapid response to customer inquiries and communications as a cornerstone of superior customer service.
    • Must be a self-starter and a fast learner.
    • Must be self-motivated, highly disciplined, well organized, detail oriented, and able to complete all tasks in an expeditious time-frame.
    • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be able to multi-task efficiently and to handle multiple concurrent projects.
    • Must be creative in fitting a client’s event requirements to a Waterways Cruises product.
    • Is constantly displaying initiative to achieve better sales results and improved customer satisfaction.
    • Works well in a collaborative team-oriented environment.
    • Has a positive, energetic attitude.
    • Must remain poised under high pressure situations.
    • Has the ability to multi task and problem solve.

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    • Full-time salaried position.
    • Permanent, year-round employee.
    • Evening work required for networking with various trade groups – approximately one night per week
    • Assignment, from time to time to work weekends and holidays as business requires; compensating PTO provided.

    Compensation: 

    • Salary, Commission and Bonuses DOE
    • Benefits include health/dental and PTO and six paid Holidays

Customer Service & Administrative Assistant

    The Customer Service & Administrative Assistant will assist the sales and marketing team, and General Manager in support of Waterways Cruises and Events’ ongoing business activities, working closely with all departments to maximize public and private cruise sales and maintain Waterways’ high level of customer service.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

    • Acquire product knowledge on both private and public cruises and serve as the first point of customer contact to answer basic questions over the phone and email.
    • Answer incoming booking inquiries via the phone and email to process new bookings, answer customer questions, and make changes to existing bookings on public cruises in a professional and timely manner. Handle multi line phone system with headset
    • Coordinate and collaborate with team members as necessary.
    • Assist with special projects and new business initiatives.
    • Post BEO information as required both on the Waterways’ network and via paper files, as appropriate.
    • Become an expert in reservation policies, procedures and FAQ’s.
    • Monitor online public cruise bookings and layouts to open more tickets and add boats where needed to increase sales.
    • Access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
    • Be the first point of contact for guests, vendors and other representatives who visit the home office and help them in an efficient and friendly manner.
    • Assist with promotion of public and private cruises through a variety of marketing channels including, but not limited to, posting event listings online and staffing tradeshow booths
    • Provide hands-on support during peak business times.
    • Monitor and purchase office supplies
    • Other administrative duties as assigned.

     

    The Ideal Candidate: 

    • Must have both in-person and over-the-phone customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality and event planning industry.
    • Must be able to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 40 lbs.
    • Must be able to effectively deal with internal and external clients, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy, and an ability to collect information and resolve conflict.
    • Must remain poised under pressure situations.
    • Minimum 2 years customer service required.
    • College attendance, and completion of degree preferred but not required.
    • Must have a positive and team oriented attitude.
    • Must have ability to work and be effective in diverse teams and environments.
    • Must demonstrate computer skills with knowledge of business-use Microsoft applications and catering software.
    • Must be flexible and able to handle multiple concurrent projects and be creative in developing solutions to adapt to his/her continually changing work environment.
    • Must be able to effectively deal with internal & external clients, some of whom will require levels of patience, tact and diplomacy, and an ability to collect information and resolve conflict. Must remain poised under pressure situations.

     

    WORK SCHEDULE:

    • Part-time employee, 25 – 30 hours per week
    • May be assigned to work holidays and weekends as business requires.

    Compensation: 

    • Hourly ($18/per hour)
    • A bonus will be awarded if performance goals are met

    SKILLS/DUTIES REQUIRED:

    • Duties include basic prep for the main kitchen, peeling, cutting, searing, grilling, boiling, blanching, fruit trays, stocks, portioning proteins, etc.
    • Responsible for daily prep list, loading food on vessels within designated timeframe, and opening and closing of the galley kitchen.
    • Plating hot food, setting up buffets, and following dinner service timeframe while working closely with FOH staff.
    • Maintain the overall cleanliness of the kitchen.
    • Must be able to work with and without supervision.
    • Must have a clean and professional appearance and work station at all times.
    • Ability to be self-motivated and thrive under pressers.
    • Must be punctual and have perfect attendance at all times.
    • Be able to take direction from the Executive Chef and work well as part of a team.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must have previous fine dining experience.
    • Must have experience with Pacific Northwest cuisine.
    • Must have high standards of sanitation and knowledge of Washington state health codes.
    • Must possess a current Washington state food handler’s card.
    • Able to interact with customers and other crew members in English

    EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Culinary degree is preferred.
