What types of cruises do you offer?
Waterways Cruises offers private yacht charters for groups from 10 to 220 guests, and regularly scheduled Seattle Lakes Dining Cruises for individually ticketed guests and smaller groups.
Does Waterways Cruises operate year round?
Yes. Waterways Cruises operates rain or shine, 12 months per year! Our vessels have fully enclosed climate-controlled decks that will provide you with the most comfortable cruise, regardless of the weather outside.
How do I purchase tickets for Seattle Lakes Dining Cruises?
You can buy tickets online or by calling Waterways office at 206-223-2060 for groups of 8 or more guests. Advanced purchases are required for all dining cruises.
Do you offer Senior or Military Rates?
Senior rates are available for guests 60 years old and over. We also offer reduced military rates for all cruise tickets. Please present your military ID upon boarding the cruise.
Is there assigned seating on Seattle Lakes Dining Cruises?
Yes, there is assigned seating on Sunset Dinner Cruises, Sunday Brunch Cruises, BBQ Cruise on the Lake, Two Lakes Lunch Cruises, Discovery Lunch Cruise Tours and some Special Event Dinner and Brunch Cruises. You will be seated at your private table, location depending on the size of your party. Please let us know if you have any specific requests for seating arrangements when you are purchasing tickets. There is no assigned seating aboard the Happy Hour Cruises and Special Event Cruises that offer a casual style buffet dining.
How can I get window seats?
Seating arrangements on Dining Cruises will vary depending on the number of guests and the size of their parties. Since not all tables are located next to the yacht windows, you can guarantee the window seat placement for your party by purchasing a window table upgrade. Window table upgrades are available for tables for two, four or six guests.
Where do Waterways' cruises depart from?
Seattle Lakes Dining Cruises depart from the South Lake Union Park in Seattle, Kirkland Marina Park and from the Waterways Cruises HomePort on the north end of Lake Union. Private charters can pick up your group from Southport Pier in Renton, South Lake Union Park, Waterways HomePort, Kirkland Marina Park or other locations per your arrangements.
Is food included in the cruise tickets?
Brunch, Dinner, Lunch, BBQ and Happy Hour Cruise tickets include food, tea and coffee service. Brunch, Lunch, BBQ and Happy Hour are served buffet style, Dinner is served plated. Alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase aboard all cruises.
Can I change my selected entree for the dinner cruise?
You can change your dinner entree up to 72 hours prior to your cruise departure.
What if I have food allergies?
If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, please let us know in advance, and we will do our best to accommodate your requests.
What kind of drinks are available aboard Seattle Lakes Dining Cruises?
Coffee and tea service complimentary with the purchase of your cruise ticket. Full bar services with handcrafted cocktails, regional wines and beers are available for purchase during the cruise. Please bring a valid ID if you would like to purchase alcoholic beverages onboard.
Can I order a cake for my special occasion aboard the cruise?
We are happy to offer a personalized cake for your celebration! Cakes are available in small (2-4 servings) or medium (6-8 servings) sizes. You can choose a Chocolate cake with Chocolate frosting or a White Cake with Vanilla frosting. Please indicate the size of the cake in your ticket enhancements and the instructions for cake decorations. Orders must be placed at least 48 hours prior to your cruise departure time.
Is there a dress code for Seattle Lakes Dining cruises?
Waterways Cruises does not require a particular dress code for any of our regularly scheduled cruises. However, we recommend business casual to dressy attire for our Dinner Cruises, as many of our guests celebrate their special occasions onboard. As it may be breezy on the open air decks, we recommend that you bring a light jacket in case you wish to enjoy the sights from the outer decks.
Why do I have to pay port charges with my cruise tickets?
Waterways Cruises operates cruises from public and private docks located on Seattle’s Lakes and pays port charges to these docks to operate these cruises. In accordance with cruise industry custom, port charges are passed on to our customers.
Why do I have to fuel surcharges with my cruise tickets?
Due to rising fuel costs, a fuel surcharge may be added to all tickets. Fuel surcharges may change without notice.
Is gratuity included in my cruise tickets?
Gratuity is applied to all adult dining cruise tickets. 100% of all gratuities received from our customers are paid out to Waterways Cruises crew as part of their compensation. If you have enjoyed the cruise experience and purchased additional items onboard, onboard tips for our hardworking staff are greatly appreciated!
What is cashless cruising?
Waterways Cruises offers a cashless cruising experience. Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover) are accepted for all onboard purchases. We are keeping it simple for our guests to avoid the need to carry cash and to reduce transaction time at the bar. Visit cashless cruising FAQs to learn more.
Can I cancel my tickets and get a refund?
Waterways cruise tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable, however, if you give us an advance notice (72 hours or more), we may be able to reschedule your cruise tickets to a later date. Tickets for Special Events and Holiday Cruises can not be refunded or rescheduled. If you missed your cruise, we will not be able to give you a refund or reschedule.
How steady is the cruising? Will I get seasick?
Waterways yachts are steady, gentle vessels. It is very rare for our guests to become sick, particularly since we cruise on Lake Washington and Lake Union, where waters are not usually rough.
My group is small, what are my options for a private event?

Do all Waterways vessels operate under supervision of the U.S. Coast Guard?
Are the boats ADA accessible?
Our boats may be disabled/wheelchair accessible depending upon the specific details of your situation. There are step-overs on the boat doorways. Staff will be on hand to help guests with limited mobility. If you have a small, non-motorized wheelchair, we may be able to bring it onboard with us. However, the upper decks may not be accessible for wheelchairs. Restrooms are on the lower level on all boats, but are not certified ADA accessible. Please contact us for any additional questions.
