Waterways Cruises was founded in 1994 by Hilton Smith and grew from a small family operation into Seattle’s most upscale cruise and event company. Originally starting with one yacht for private charters, Waterways successfully expanded its operations to three luxurious vessels (Emerald Star, Olympic Star, and Destiny), accommodating upwards of 30,000 guests per year in the last 16 years.
In 2005 Waterways Cruises further expanded its venue and entertainment options, acquiring The Lakeside Event Center on the north end of Lake Union and designating it as the HomePort for its fleet of yachts. No longer just a cruise company, Waterways Cruises and Events offers gourmet first-class catering and an outstanding banquet facility for shoreside entertaining.
In 2010 Waterways Cruises launched new Lake Washington Dining Cruises and Cruise Tours program, departing from the Southport Pier & Promenade in Renton. Featuring new menus, cruise routes and exciting entertainment options, Lake Washington Cruises bring fine dining experience and sightseeing opportunities to the new departure port.
